What was supposed to be a new deck to replace the old rotting deck became a new exterior after extensive rot of the main house structure was discovered thanks to missing flashings, previous poor workmanship and a stone patio that was built higher than the walk-out wall framing. The extensive structure rot required replacing floor joists and re-framing over ½ of the basement walk-out wall. The more we tore into this house, the more we found the entire exterior was “End of Life” and no longer protecting the wood structure, so we replaced all the siding, soffit and fascia, windows, and exterior doors with new. The old stone patio was also replaced with a stamped concrete patio at the correct height, and the back yard regraded for proper drainage. The deck was unfortunately put on hold for budget reason.
